Technique transforms simple elements into craft.

The interior design and framework for the expansion of Ricewood BBQ. The design needed to consider longevity and expansion, as this flagship location would set the guidelines for the design and operation of future Ricewood locations.

The local joint brings the classic smoked BBQ delivered in an unexpected but traditional way; the rice bowl. Influenced by the chef’s family and culture, the combination is an exceptional craft of simple ingredients: salt, pepper, heat.

The basic ingredients and authentic style form the technique that represents the Ricewood brand.

The space mimics this technique where subtleties in base elements showcase the sensibilities of design.

Artistic murals at the entry and within the space connect the space to its creative community, giving a consistent framework with variations for each future place.
