TOGETHER WE ARE WHOLE
Together We Are Whole is a collaboration between artist Mike Han and Synecdoche in an exploration in the production of unique works of art. The pieces are cut from a single digital painting and displayed as an installation at the new HOMES Campus.
Each object is an individual, unique “painting”. Each piece is part of a whole, and can be combined with other pieces to become diptychs, triptychs or more to create a unique installation in the collector’s home/office.
The collaboration is from the digital drawing by the artist to the digital fabrication expertise of the studio. The designer's brush is wielded by the fabricator’s CNC machine. The overall design displays the intent of the single line into a routing path that reinforces the design effect in depth and material contrast.
This art display was the inaugural show at the new campus that, along with the gallery, includes Dozer Coffee, HOMES Can Shop and Smooj Lab. Synecdoche is also the architect behind the design of HOMES Campus and Mike Han painted a permanent set of murals in the bathrooms and hallway of the dining area.
